Hotchilli were appointed by Grampian Police to carry out the design, building and programming of an emergency/major incident website. The website has a full content management system which was custom built by Hotchilli.
In most emergency situations in the Grampian Police area, the Force has a leading and/or co-ordinating role in responding to the emergency. This extends to providing the public and media with information and advice and this website is intended to enable the Force to fulfil this role.
The site is online at all times but only activated into the public domain in the event of an emergency or major incident, it acts as an information point for all emergency partners, public information and advice, media information, emergency contact details.
The site was designed to have the same "look and feel" as the public facing site. Muted blue tones are used and the site has a simple appearence and structure with the focus being on the important information it contains.
The site also works as an extranet for all partners and provides valuable information as well as assisting responders during an emergency/major incident. The site has high levels of encryption and security and is also fed by dedicated broadband "burst feed". |
